The short answer
Junior Cert grinds are one-to-one lessons for Junior Cycle students, most often maths, focused on the exact syllabus and the classroom foundations senior cycle will assume. A grinds tutor works at your child's pace, uses real exam-style questions, and builds the study habits that carry into the Leaving Cert years.
Why now?
Algebra gaps in 2nd Year become Leaving Cert problems in 5th; one-to-one closes them while they are small.
Junior Cycle performance shapes the senior-cycle level decision; grinds keep Higher open.
A student who stops raising their hand needs pace and patience the classroom can't give.
Junior Cycle is the cheap place to learn how to study.

The early fix

Five-lesson promise
The risk is ours, not yours.
We know how important the right tutor match is. If it doesn't feel right, we'll find your child another tutor and you won't pay for that lesson. If you're not satisfied with their progress after five lessons, we'll refund every cent you paid for them.
The right tutor can make all the difference, not only to your child's results, but also to their confidence, understanding and ability to tackle their schoolwork independently. For you, that means the reassurance of knowing your child is supported, making progress and moving in the right direction. That's the transformation we want your child to experience, and we're prepared to stand behind it.
First, your child's tutor should feel like the right fit. If your child doesn't feel comfortable, understood and excited to continue after their lesson, simply tell us. We'll find them a better-matched tutor, and you won't pay a cent for that lesson.
Once your child has found the right match, give us five lessons to help them make meaningful progress. If, after those five lessons, you're not satisfied with the change you're seeing, let us know and we'll refund every cent you paid for them.
Our 97% customer success rate gives us the confidence to make this promise. But if your child is among the 3% who don't get the results you hoped for, we wouldn't feel right keeping your money.
No awkward conversations. No hoops to jump through. The risk is ours, not yours.
Rates depend on the tutor's experience and frequency; you'll see exact prices for matched tutors before committing. No sign-up fees, no long contracts.
The curriculum is the Junior Cycle (finishing with the JCPA), but everyone still says Junior Cert. Our tutors teach the current syllabus either way.
Maths is the most requested subject at this level, but tutors cover English, Irish, science and more.
Yes. 1st to 3rd Years work well online with the right tutor: shorter focused sessions, a shared whiteboard, and a parent can sit in.
The gaps a tutor fixes in Junior Cycle are the ones that would cost points at Leaving Cert; earlier is cheaper in every sense.
